How Pawning and Loans Work

When you pawn an item, it's collateral for a short-term loan. That means no credit check and no wage garnishment. You have 30 days to come back for it (interest applies, e.g., 15% on a $100 loan). When you sell an item outright, Glen's can legally resell it after 21 days.

Payday loans check your credit and can garnish your wages, while pawn loans don't touch either. On a $500 loan, you'd owe roughly $550 back through a pawn shop versus roughly $650 through a payday lender.

Yes. You can extend an item as long as you'd like by paying a small monthly hold fee (around $15/month) through an app, by text, or in-store. Glen's has held items for years when needed.

Almost anything! Jewelry, boats, firearms, guitars, coins, knives, shoes, luxury handbags, and electronics are some of the more common items we buy, but we will look at anything you have. If you're planning a garage sale, check with Glen's first.

How We Keep You Safe

Every item is run through the FBI's LeadsOnline database, which checks nightly against law enforcement records. If an item is ever flagged, the original owner can reclaim it for free, even if Glen's already paid for it.

New purchases sit for about three weeks before resale, giving background checks and police searches time to clear. It's a safety precaution, not a sign anything's wrong with the item.

To loan or sell an item you need a valid photo government ID such as a drivers license, ID, Military ID, etc.

Be cautious of traveling “roadshows” that offer to buy gold, silver, or jewelry. They often pay a fraction of real value and leave town. Look up any buyer's reviews on the Better Business Bureau before you sell.

Coins, Gold & Silver

Glen's uses state of the art testing to ensure all of the gold and silver we take and then sell to the public is real. We use a Sigma Precious metals testing machine, as well as traditional acid testing to ensure the gold is solid and not plated.
